What are you going to do?
As a Student Success & Support Coordinator, you play a central role in supporting students throughout their academic journey. You act as a primary point of contact for students facing complex academic, personal or practical challenges and provide professional, tailored guidance aimed at promoting study progress, student wellbeing and successful completion of their programme.
The role combines student counselling, case management, study progress monitoring, policy and process coordination, stakeholder management and administrative coordination. You work closely with students, teaching staff, the Examination Board and internal support services to identify issues at an early stage, coordinate appropriate interventions and ensure that students receive the right support at the right time.
In addition to individual student support, you contribute to the continuous improvement of student support processes and use data and insights to identify trends, risks and opportunities for improving student success.

Rotterdam Business School (RBS)
The Rotterdam Business School (RBS) is a community of professionals who, together with our students, form a dynamic educational institution for the economic field. The Business School offers education that is accessible to everyone, in a learning environment that resembles professional practice and where the industry actively participates. The education focuses on the development of students and prepares them for a constantly changing world. RBS offers English taught programmes at Bachelors and Masters level. Our Master programmes are Master in Consultancy and Entrepreneurship and Master in International Supply Chain Management. We also offer a pre-master programme. Are we looking for you?
- The successful candidate combines strong student-focused communication skills with analytical ability, sound judgement and organisational coordination skills. You are comfortable working independently on sensitive and complex cases while also operating effectively across different departments and professional disciplines.
- You are able to balance the individual needs of students with institutional policies, procedures and legal or regulatory requirements. You have a proactive approach, recognise potential issues at an early stage and are able to translate complex situations into practical and sustainable solutions.
- Key qualities include:
- Strong coaching, counselling and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential student cases with discretion and professionalism.
- Strong organisational and coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Ability to mediate and manage complex or potentially sensitive situations.
- A proactive, solution-oriented and student-centred approach.
- Ability to work effectively with academic, administrative and support departments.
- Strong attention to detail in administrative and formal documentation.
- Ability to interpret and use student data to identify trends and support decision-making.
- Affinity with student wellbeing, inclusion, accessibility and student success.
- Ability to operate effectively in an international and multicultural educational environment.
- Native English speaker or equivalent required.
What do we offer you?
- A temporary employment contract for a period of 6 months with Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences (D4, Collective Labour Agreement for Universities of Applied Sciences), to replace a colleague who will be on leave.
- Salary in scale 10: € 3.826,54 – € 5.699,76 gross per month (based on full-time employment, depending on experience and qualifications)
- A contract of 32 hours per week
- 8% holiday allowance + 8,3% year-end bonus
- Up to 9 weeks of vacation (based on full-time)
- 45 sustainable employability hours (for your personal development and work-life balance)
Location
You will be working at the Kralingse Zoom in Rotterdam, which is easily accessible by public transport.
