We encourage an environment that provides space for experimentation and the development of new ideas. We work from a foundation of trust in one another and in each other’s expertise, and we actively seek collaboration while respecting diverse perspectives.
Within the academy, we are committed to creating an inclusive and inspiring learning and working environment where everyone feels seen, valued, and welcome.
The Stations
The stations are centers of knowledge and expertise. They are locations that cover traditional as well as innovative technologies. The stations are at the vanguard of the developments within the professional field and the processes of production that are relevant for the art and design practice. Stations are not only a space of execution and production, but also a space in which tutors, instructors and students question why we make, how we make and for whom we make. Stations are part of a collaborative effort (an educational instrument) to develop a student-driven curriculum that supports self-directed learning.
About the Publication Station
The Publication Station is a learning environment that supports students from across disciplines in developing both digital and physical publications. It differs from a conventional print lab through its strong emphasis on research through making, combining hands-on practice with conceptual exploration. The Station explores the future of publishing by bringing together traditional print methods, digital innovation, and hybrid publishing.
Within the Publication Station, the Print Studio focuses on digital production and is equipped with A2 inkjet photo printers, roll inkjet printers, Canon V900 production printers, binding machines, and a professional guillotine cutter, enabling students to move from print files to finished prototypes or small editions.
Alongside this, the Printmaking Studio is dedicated to more traditional processes and includes facilities for screenprinting, RISO printing, UV printing, laser cutting, cutting plotting, sublimation printing, and a range of presses for letterpress, etching, stone lithography, and linocut.
Within this Station, you will collaborate closely with a team of around ten enthusiastic instructors and tutors, all committed to creating an inspiring, safe, and accessible learning environment. You’ll be part of a supportive and knowledgeable team where ideas, expertise, and experiences are openly shared. This collaborative culture offers you the opportunity to continuously learn from one another and further develop your teaching skills.
Join us in helping students bring their ideas to life by exploring the full potential of digital printing and professional production workflows.
