Do you want to take your knowledge of Supply Chain Management to the next level? Are you looking to enhance your managerial and leadership skills?

A Supply Chain Manager is not a master of just one specific area in the supply chain; he or she is a master in all areas including sourcing, planning, transportation, distribution, warehousing, inventory management, customer service and strategic leadership. Our one-year intensive programme is designed to provide you with the knowledge and skills required to transform yourself into a well-rounded Supply Chain Manager. You will participate in an intensive programme of combined classroom learning, company projects and self-led projects. In this environment, you will both broader and deepen your theoretical knowledge about Supply Chain Management while simultaneously developing your project management skills and cultivating your personal leadership capabilities. At the end of the programme, you will be an expert in the functional areas of Supply Chain Management and will be equipped with the skills necessary to manage a logistics organisation.

This programme is part of Rotterdam Business School.

A view of the study programme

    Our programme

Our intensive one-year programme is specifically designed to equip students with the necessary knowledge, skills and attitude (KSAs) to excel as a supply chain manager and to advance your career. Our programme follows the Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes (KSA) elements of the framework and are defined as follows:

The programme is built on a collaborative learning model, and is student-centred as it offers students the opportunity to create their learning paths based on their backgrounds, ambitions and talents.

Students will engage in real-life case studies and collaborative projects with diverse student groups, companies and industry stakeholders (Project Management Living Labs) while developing problem-solving abilities and designing innovative solutions.

The Master in International Supply Chain Management is a one-year full time programme. In today's evolving supply chain landscape, theoretical knowledge alone is insufficient. Professionals must possess up-to-date industry knowledge, be adept at managing supply chain processes, and demonstrate strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities in real-world scenarios. Therefore, our Supply Chain managers of the future are expected to oversee all areas of the supply chain, including sourcing, purchasing, planning, transportation, distribution, warehousing, inventory management, customer service, and strategic leadership.

We have designed an applied-based programme where students will be introduced to different topics and dimensions of supply chain management on a strategic level. After this the transition is made from working on a strategic level to a tactical level, this will give students the knowledge and practical experience to solve complex supply chain problems. The next step is moving to an operational level where students will drive supply chain performance via simulation and data analysis. And lastly, students need to showcase leadership and impact through their Graduate Portfolio. The year is split into two semesters, within each semester there are 2 blocks, so 4 blocks within the year.

The programme culminates with the Graduation Portfolio - the final and ultimate deliverable of the programme – which demonstrates the proof that the student has reached a master level of all the programme KSAs.
