Information for incoming students - September 2021

Coronavirus Update

10 juni 2021

 Dear students,

We are very glad to announce that from the start of the academic year in September both of our Rotterdam Business School (RBS) buildings will reopen. The expectation from the Dutch Ministry of Education is that from August 30 onwards the social distancing rule of 1,5 meter will be lifted. Also, the limit on how many persons can gather during an educational activity will be raised to 75. This is great news, because it means that all students will be able to enjoy their classes on location and with their classmates and teachers physically present. That is why we expect every student to be in Rotterdam in September so that you can join our educational and other social activities.

There is a possibility that certain minor regulations will stay in place, such as sanitising your hands frequently, staying home in case of corona related symptoms and maybe even the wearing of masks in the corridors. But this is a small price to pay for a complete return to education on location.

Although we will reopen all our education on our physical locations, we have learned from the corona crisis and the online education we had to provide. We are happy to implement the good parts of our online adventure in our education on location. That means that Blended Learning and making use of online tools will be part of our program, even more than before. But our basis will be education on location, with classmates, lecturers and support staff physically present in our buildings.

As things stand now, the world is really opening up, so we expect the majority of our students will not experience any travel restrictions and will have no difficulty in obtaining the visa necessary to join us in Rotterdam. If for whatever reason you find yourself unable to come to RBS before the start of the academic year, please contact us in time. We will try to help you out where we can, so that you will feel part of the RBS experience as well, even with thousands of miles between us. In case you still have questions about your admission, please send an e-mail to coia-admissions@hr.nl. In case of questions about you visa procedures, send an e-mail to coia-studentsupport@hr.nl.

It is in your best interest to come to Rotterdam as soon as possible, in order to have a chance to get to know the city and the RBS buildings before your program starts. Contact the Centre of International Affairs (CoIA) for advice on housing by sending an e-mail to coia-housing@hr.nl.

We wish you an inspiring start to your first year at RBS and are looking forward to meeting you in Rotterdam!

See you all soon,

Mariska Wit
