Both China and the Netherlands have many similarities when it comes to healthy ageing. The increasingly ageing population involves many challenges for health care organizations, research and knowledge institutes as well as universities and colleges.
Last year, in 2019, Shanghai (China) and Rotterdam (the Netherlands) celebrated their 40th sister city anniversary. Part of this celebration was the renewal of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). This renewed MOU aims to deepen cooperation and exchange in the field of elderly care, education and research, and underlines the importance of collaboration as an important condition for successful innovation. This seminar is the first step to explore possibilities.

Promoting homecare in China
This video was made for the Chinese participants of the China Aid congress in October 2020 to promote homecare in China. The video was made by the Dutch Consulate, in collaboration with Buurtzorg China, and Research Centre Innovations in Care from Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences. Besides a welcome from our consulate general in Shanghai, Remco van Wijngaarden, Marleen Goumans tells you more about the importance between the collaboration of education, research and practice. Dutch nursing students were asked to play a role in the film as homecare nurses. The film is also a result of the collaboration between Rotterdam University and the Dutch consulate in Shanghai.
