Study load is expressed in terms of European Credits (EC) in a system known as the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS).
A Bachelor's programme covers:
- 60 credits (EC) per year
- 4 years x 60 = 240 credits (EC) for the complete programme
- one EC is equal to a study load of 28 hours
For students starting in 2023-2024 the following rules apply:
We expect from you that you will have accumulated 60 credits (EC) in your first year, without being behind at the start of the second year. If you have less than 48 credits, then you will receive a negative urgent study recommendation at the end of your first year. This means that we will urgently advise you to stop your studies and discuss your future with your study coach. This recommendation is not binding.
